spoil yourself

Back-to-school was such a fun time of year for me as a kid.

We'd walk into a familiar mall and head straight to Kiddie Kobbler to get a new pair of shoes. Then we'd be off to Grand & Toy for binders, a pencil case, pencil crayons and other school supplies. Then came the mission to find the perfect first-day-of-school outfit. Sometimes we'd get a new book at Coles and always always an ice cream at Laura Secord to finish the trip.

I remember this being the kind of shopping trip where I could ask for things I wanted that weren't necessarily on our list and the answer would mostly likely be "yes!" It was all just so much fun!

This week I'm encouraging us to spoil ourselves with a frivolous feeling purchase. It doesn't need expensive (but it could be!). A new gel pen or a pair of earrings would be great, for example. A little something that makes you feel that giddy feeling of getting something new, adding it to what you already have, and allowing it to inspire creativity in your life.
