who has seen the wind?

I’ve been walking in a deep dark woods with friends this weekend. The kind of woods that has moss covered rocks and is thick with trees and the smells of moist rotting wood. One friend said, “I can feel the fairies here.” I agreed.

Someone once shared with me that when the wind starts a howling we can think, “The wind is messing up my hair!” Or we can believe that fairies are playing with it. Giving us a silly new hairstyle. Reminding us of all the fun that surrounds.

I think of that often at this time of year when the weather starts to cool and the wind feels like it’s whipping through my skin unkindly.

This week, let’s be with the wind for a few minutes thinking of nothing else but it. Where is it coming from and where does it want to go? Perhaps you might even try to follow it. Or let it blow you over.
